Jackson Hole Children Photographer

I am a Jackson children’s photographer specializing in capturing the precious moments of your child and family. Serving Jackson, Jackson, Wyoming, and the Grand Teton area, I create timeless kids' portraits that you'll treasure forever as beautiful memories.

I believe in the beauty and artistry of real family treasures. I believe in display. I believe these images should be visible in your life to remind you every day what is true and good. They are permanent records of your precious family.

Portraiture is my obsession and passion. I exist to preserve your memories in a way that can be touched, seen, and held by everyone who enters your home.

I am not your average photographer; I am a fine art creator. I make only archival, museum-quality canvas and prints that are special works of art to be treasured for a lifetime.

I love a portrait, I love the eyes, I love the beautiful light that I can create…the end result is a poignant portrait adorning the walls of your home.

The Photo Session Process

I begin with the end in mind.  My process begins with a strategic plan to ensure your vision becomes reality.  I carefully consider how and where you will use your photographs whether it be within a cherished family gallery wall, for a statement piece, or a new collection series.  Telling your story, authentically and with careful consideration, is my goal.  I offer a plethora of photographic options, from wall art to custom-created albums and portfolios, I look forward to exceeding your expectations while creating a long-standing relationship.

Step 1: Phone Call/Zoom

Following the initial phone call, where we discussed your needs and my approach, I then schedule a collaborative Zoom. This is where we go over the concept of the session, strategize a design plan for displaying the photos, and discuss your kid(s) wardrobe, location, pricing, and the best time of day for the session. So, when we meet for the session, all the hard work is over. It’s not a long meeting but the more communication the better and the more amazing results we get with your images.

Step 2: The Photo Session

After choosing the best location and outfits for your children, we meet at the scheduled time on location or in the studio. I arrive 30-45 minutes before you do to make sure I am ready. I bring an assistant and lighting equipment to help me harness the light if I am working on location. I bring a candy box for the kids and puppets for them to help look my way. I recommend that you bring snacks and drinks to help the kids, as it can be hot, and usually, the sessions are before dinner, so people do get hangry. There also can be bugs so I usually bring bug spray. This is where all the magic happens! The client and I have done all the planning, so the session is me working with your kids to bring out their true personalities while mixing in the beauty around them.

Expect 1 hour at most for the session as kids can only handle so much. During the photo session, I go through a variety of combinations, angles, and backdrops while mixing posed and candid looks. I work tirelessly to find the beautiful light while keeping the pace moving and fun. I am fully prepared for challenging kids, and difficult weather. Since I have been a professional for over 30 years, I can say I have seen it all.

Step 3: Image Review & Order Placement

A week after the session, I have scheduled you to come to review the photos and place your order in the studio. Since we have done all the potential wall placement and measuring, placing the order is easy. Otherwise, I only make a photo gallery if you cannot make it into the studio. The photo galleries are only online for 2 weeks and then expire and require a repost fee of $350. This helps you place your order and not drag out the ordering process.

During this meeting, I help you choose your images and decide what frames and what type of material to print on. I am there right by your side for help. I have numerous displays in my studio to give you ideas and suggestions and you can feel and touch all of them. I also can email you a studio tour YouTube to see if you are not local. Once the order is placed it can take either 2-4-6 weeks depending on what you have ordered and what time of year it is.

Booking and Payment Process

Once the session type is selected from our phone call, a date and time for the photoshoot are selected, and a deposit is required to secure the booking. Part of the deposit will be applied to your print order. After booking, clients will receive a Zoom Link to detail their specific needs and session objectives. This ensures all requirements are clearly understood.

Terms

Deposit: Clients are required to pay the session fee deposit with a credit at the time of booking to secure their session date and time. This deposit guarantees your slot and prevents other bookings for that period. The deposit will be credited towards your final bill. Payment can be made via cash, credit cards, checks, or Venmo. If you request hair and makeup services, we would be happy to help schedule or refer you to outside salons.

Rescheduling: You may reschedule your shoot for any reason, provided you notify us 48 hours before the scheduled time, without forfeiting your deposit.

Retouching: We specialize in natural retouching aimed at enhancing your appearance while preserving your authentic look—well-rested, healthy, put-together, and blemish-free. We strive to present the best version of you, subtly making you appear a little younger without altering your essential features. Each image includes up to three rounds of retouching, although most images typically require only one. Additional retouching is available for $10-30 per round, depending on the complexity of the adjustments required.

While we endeavor to meet all client requests, our focus is on natural studio and location shoots. We do not specialize in heavy alterations or composite images. For specialized retouching needs beyond our scope, you are welcome to take the images to external service providers.

“The end result is a glowing, poignant portrait adorning a wall in your home. For me, the print is the creation, the purpose, and the result of my endeavor.”

Contact

I had been selling my images since I was 15. By the time I was 19 I thought I was pretty good. I got hired on a part time basis to carry stuff for a photographer. So in a sense all I was, was very cheap labor to carry stuff, my ability with a camera was incidental.
